Parachute for the DIY ultralight

Well, This all started out as a joke over lunch regarding the homemade electric plane. Joking about the possibilites of an inflight failure (one that would be critical to the loss of the airplane) is slim yet we laughed at the idea of possibly getting a parachute. While at Oshkosh I happened to stuble upon a vendor that acutally makes really decent small chutes that have a low deployment altitude. Unfortunately I should probably just purchase the chute, however all my funds are going to the airplane project so this leaves me little to no money in time for the planned maiden flight. I don't expect needing the chute for the maiden flight, however it would be extremely wise to have one for stall and spin testing at higher altitudes where it could actually be useful!
