Help Paradiso Recover from the Pandemic
Every year, the J-Fashion community has blown us away with their enthusiasm for Paradiso. The event started out small in 2016 as a gathering in Kansas City, Missouri and has exploded into a gala with international attendees and guests-- even hosting the largest Lolita Fashion tea party in North America for 2019.
In 2020, shutdown orders and restrictions pushed Paradiso: Symphonia to 2021. But as the pandemic dragged on, 2021 looked less and less likely for things to return to normal. Though restrictions and shutdowns were lifted, we felt that a 2021 event would still not be safe. Rescheduling to 2022 was the right thing to do for everyone involved with Paradiso.
Our decision to push Paradiso: Symphonia back to 2022 meant losing the deposit for our venues. This is a huge hit to our finances, amounting to thousands of dollars lost. We must admit that we need help-- if we can’t recover from our lost deposits, we fear Paradiso will come to an end.
Paradiso has always been made possible not just from the hard work and talent of our all-volunteer staff, but from every one of you in the J-Fashion community. You are daring enough to be who you truly are, and you have found and formed a community that spans across borders and languages. Paradiso has always been a celebration of J-fashion-- and of you.
If you can, please help Paradiso by purchasing our merch, becoming a patron on patreon, or by donating. Tickets are also still available for our 2022 event - Paradiso: Symphonia.
We are so, so thankful for your support.
Warmly,
The Paradiso Gala Committee
