This page has been established in honor of Gregory John Parent, an amazing son, father, husband, business owner, and friend. Please join us in providing additional support to Maegan, Brynn and Isla. Gifts in memory of Greg will go directly to the Parent Children Education Fund.
Gregory John Parent, loving husband of Maegan (Coyle) Parent, passed away on Saturday, July 29th, 2023 at the age of 44. Born in Schenectady, New York, he is the beloved son of Paul and Candace (Hodio) Parent.
Greg grew up in Glastonbury, Connecticut and was a graduate of Glastonbury High School. He graduated from Plymouth State University with a degree in Actuarial Math. During his days in high school, Greg was a talented soccer player and good athlete. In 2017 he ran and completed the Boston Marathon. Greg’s talents grew with hands on work. He was so creative and gifted with his hands. His home and yard definitely reflect his talents. Greg co-owned and operated Earth, Stone and Water in Medford with his dear friend Chris. They are known for their intricate stonework, waterfalls, playscapes and creative ways to make homes beautiful.
Greg is a great friend and neighbor. He was always hosting friends and family. He loved to help any way he could. His greatest joy came from being with his family. Greg enjoyed being at his daughter’s sporting events, watching movies as a family, making the most out of the time they had together. He will be deeply missed by all the lives he touched.
In addition to being the devoted husband of Maegan and loving son of Paul and Candace, Greg is the cherished father of Brynn Mary and Isla Mae who were the center of his world.He is the beloved brother of Jeffrey P. Parent and Andrew G. Parent and his partner Theresa Unterreiner all of Glastonbury, CT. He was the loving uncle of Jackson and Evan Parent of Glastonbury, CT, and close friend and business partner of Christopher Mann of Exeter, NH . Greg also leaves his in-laws Paul & Laura Coyle of Rochester,NH and Mary Coyle of Manalapan, NJ who loved him as a son. Greg leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and close friends and their family dog Bruno.
Family and friends are cordially invited to visiting hours at the Cota Funeral Home, 335 Park St., North Reading, (Corner of Park St. and Rt. 28 at the Reading Line) on Friday, August 4th, 2023 from 3 to 7pm. Immediately following the visitation, a service will be held at the funeral home.
