Park bench for Allen Thoresen

My Friends and I would love to dedicate a bench in Como Park for our beloved friend Allen Thoresen who passed away in April.  Allen was an amazing person who cared about all his friends and loved to make people laugh and we are devastated to no longer have our brother in our lives.  Our friend group spent so much time growing up in the park, hammocking, playing frisbee and just enjoying being outside together, a bench for Allen seems like a great way to leave his mark in como.

According to the Department of Parks of Recreation a new park bench would cost 7,000 to install which is a pretty big goal. This would be to install a brand new bench, there is another option for 3,500 that would dedicate a preexisting bench in como but ideally we would like for Allen to have his Very own bench in a location meaningful to him.  There is no set dead line for this project . I, Graeme Thompson will be updating everything once I get more information, I will also handle the final expenses.


We are well aware that 7,000 is a-lot of money to be asking for but this is the amount of money that the city of Saint Paul finds appropriate to charge for a memorial bench. If for some reason we are not able to reach our goal all money accumulated will go towards another way of dedication to Allen, suicide prevention or directly to the Thoresen family.
