Help Support Alastair Parker
Donation protected
My name is Jordan Childers. I'm raising funds on behalf of my friend and EMS partner, Alastair Parker and his family. I have started this link to help them with automobile replacement, living, medical and unexpected expenses they are incurring as a result of this serious accident.
This is Alastair or "Al" as his friends call him. He and his family need our help! Al is a member of WakeMed Mobile Critical Care and Randolph County EMS. He is also a volunteer Firefighter at Farmer Fire Department. He has a wife and an infant son who depend on him.
Early Sunday morning while returning home from work. Alastair was in a single car motor vehicle crash that he was lucky to survive. His car hit several trees and rolled multiple times. He was taken to Moses Cone Memorial Hospital for treatment by EMS. His injuries consisted of a left femur fracture which he underwent surgery for later Sunday morning to stabilize. While in surgery he was also found to have a tibial plateau fracture which also needed repair. Other known injuries at this time are fractures of his T11 and L2, that will require a back brace for some time. He also has abdominal pain which is being monitored closely. His right foot has developed severe swelling and bruising which will be evaluated further. Alastair's Surgeon told his wife that he will need at least 4 to 6 months to recover and that it will be a year or more before he is back to 100%.
This is an amazing family, who are part of our community and they need us more than ever right now. We are requesting funds as soon as possible to help with all aspects of his treatment and to help support his infant son and wife. From the emergency room to long-term care, medical expenses can wipe out savings accounts and leave behind debt that lasts for years. Any donation would go a long way to support him and help his family. Please keep them in your prayers.
Thanks
