Temple Parking Lot, Sidewalk and Site Improvement

Mipham Shedra was founded by Lhoppön Rinpoche for the preservation and practice of Tibetan Buddhism. In light of this, Rinpoche felt that Buddhist practitioners in the West would benefit from the infrastructure and support commonly found in Tibet and India. Foremost among these are, 1) accessible resident teachers, and 2) temples in convenient locations.

By participating in the Sangha, various constituencies—Tibetan, Nepalese, Sherpa and Western—will have the enriching opportunities which come from being part of a culturally diverse Buddhist community.

With this in mind, Rinpoche procured a beautiful 6-acre property in Westminster, Colorado, with the vision of building a temple where practitioners could study, contemplate and meditate.

The primary goal of 'Phase 1' of this fundraising project is to meet the various county and city requirements needed for a 'Certificate of Occupancy.' With this certificate in hand, we will be able to gather and practice in the temple. The following items must be completed before it can be issued:

1. Right-of-Way improvements (sidewalk along 106th)

2. Driveway Paving & Parking Lot Improvements

3. Site Grading and Drainage Infrastructure

4. Concrete Walkways

5. Planting / Landscape Screening

6. Temple Building Code Improvements- Accessible Bathroom
