Local Firefighter Loses Home to Fire

Donation protected
Firefighter/Paramedic Mike Isom has been serving the City of Park Ridge, Illinois for over 22 years.  In addition to being a staple in the Firehouse, Mike has been an active member of Elite Technical Rescue and Hazardous Materials special teams for a majority of his career and also served as Union President.

On the morning of October 17th, 2019, the Isom family experienced a tragedy.  Around 1:30am, the Isom family dog, a Bloodhound named Earl, alerted Mike.  They were then faced with heavy smoke and heat.  Luckily, they were able to crawl to their son Mason’s room and were then able to escape outside to safety.  Sadly, they lost their other family dog, a lab mix named Stella, who succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire.

The Isom family is now left with little to no personal belongings and an uninhabitable home.  Stella, the Family dog, succumbed to injuries sustained in the fire after truly saving the lives of the rest of the family.

The Park Ridge Professional Firefighters, International Association of Firefighters Local 2697, are seeking financial assistance to help our beloved Brother Isom, his wife Jill and son Mason, begin to restore their lives after this great tragedy.
