Partner with Berry Patch Farms: Invest in Oz Robot
Donation protected
Claudia and I own and operate Berry Patch Farms LLC in Brighton, Colorado, for the past twenty-six years. Because the farm is Certified Organic, we cultivate the crops, berries, and vegetables by non-chemical methods. This requires labor and mechanical means.
Labor costs, though, have been a game changer most recently due to increased wages for the employees. At $20/hr plus federal, local wage taxes, and Workman's Comp, the cost is closer to $24/hr. This is the wage ceiling for us. We are now limited to four seasonal employees. Any more is not affordable.
This is where a robot, such as Oz, has a place at the farm. While it won't take the place of present field workers, it can act as a responsible tool to accomplish many tasks. These include weeding, laying drip tape, seeding, aiding in harvesting, and planting. Please visit YouTube of Naio Technologies Oz for many video clips of Oz in action.
Ordinarily, we would seek grants from the USDA to purchase the Oz. But these are not ordinary times since governmental funding has been shut down. We are asking you, the consumer, to support local farms so your food security remains strong. Claudia and I really would like to utilize the Oz this season.
I have been researching the past year and a half various robots and believe the Oz best fits our needs. Oz was demonstrated on our farm this past week to see how well it cultivates in our heavier clay soil. We are very impressed. The attached picture is from our farm. We farm forty acres, all of which are certified organic.
Thank you for your time and attention. We are happy to answer your questions via email. And feel free to visit and see OZ should the funding be successful.
