Pass the hat around for the Angus family

Donation protected
The Corangamite Hockey Club are asking for help for one of our most active families. The Angus family, Paul (known as Angus) and his kids Harrison and Lillian were involved in a high-speed car crash on Friday 12 May 2023 and were all flown to Melbourne with serious injuries. Mum, Misty is in Melbourne supporting both kids and her husband between two hospitals.
Luckily the kids should be ok but Angus is going in for his second surgery today and it will be a while before he is on his feet.
We are passing the hat around to collect money and support the Angus family as they recover. The money will go directly to Misty and Angus to help cover accommodation and transport in Melbourne, medical costs, essential bills and general living while Angus is unable to work. Any support you could give, big or small, would make a huge difference.

Angus coaches our Hookin2Hockey program and has inspired many kids to take up hockey and become involved with our club. His love of the sport is infectious and his open inclusive coaching enables all kids to participate and enjoy hockey regardless of ability or any other factor. He and Misty are always there when needed and put their hand up without hesitation to help wherever they can.
Harrison is dedicated to his sport and a proud advocate of the Corangamite Hockey Club. Harrison can be found running impromptu hockey clinics at his primary school and his proudest possession is his club jumper.
Lillian has just started her Hockey journey but has always been there to help her dad at Hookin2Hockey and had just started leaning into her first season when this happened.

Beyond the Hockey Club Misty is an engaged community member of Cobden and is always to be found in the group of organisers at any community event.
Progressing Cobden member Kelvin White says:
Misty and the Angus family have been great volunteers for Progressing Cobden and its committees’ activities over the years. These events have included leading the time-honoured Spring Festival committee, as well as being heavily involved in several other mini-festivals and activities like Super Saturday, Christmas-in-Curdie St, the incredibly popular Kidding Around children’s extravaganza that took place during the last school holidays, as well as planning for the upcoming Sunday Funday in November, postponed from November 2022.

Specifically, Misty has worked with the Cobden Business Network and consultant Laura Hultgren, and the Pioneer Park, both committees of Progressing Cobden. She excels at organising appropriate stalls and activities and promoting events, especially using social media about which she has an excellent knowledge and understanding. Her family has always provided great support.

Thanks for your help :)
