Passing of Sarbjit Kaur Gill

Dear Friends:

In the early hours of Saturday, December 10th, 2022, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, a car accident took the life of a beautiful wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend to many. This early morning collision took a lovely person—one of the best—too soon from her husband, children, family, friends and co-workers.

Sarbkit Kaut Gill, born July 14th, 1980, leaves behind a grieving husband, her twin teenagers (a son and daughter), her extended family, friends and her co-workers along with the hundreds of families and their children who were touched by her love, caring nature and knowledge.

My name is Nadia, and I am a member of the board of directors of the Children at the Centre (CATC). My daughter had the honour and privilege of being embraced by Sarbjit's kindness, gentleness and love, as she was her teacher for the first four years of her life.

Sarbjit was an early childhood educator that devoted her energy, time and essence to educating the youngest people in our world. She loved and cared for them as her own. At a minimum, 200 families have had the security and knowledge that their children were safe, loved and cared for while with her. In fact, this number is likely higher.

This Gofundme account is dedicated to creating the gift Sarbjit offered this world - education. The funds will be used to start a RESP account for her two children, so they receive the same privilege Sarbjit offered children—the gift of education. The funding goal was calculated using the current tuition rate for one year of post-secondary education with no specialization, considering the RESP government contribution for a three-year degree.

Our goal, from my heart and the heart of so many, is to fulfill what she did for our children.
