Passing of Woody
Donation protected
With great sadness, Gary "Woody" Wood passed away recently on 9/9/2021.
I have started a funeral fundraiser to help cover the cost of his funeral expenses. Woody's wife Cindy was not prepared for the cost of a funeral. Due to the pandemic Woody's had been closed to ensure both their health, causing them to lose all income for the past year and a half. During this difficult time we are reaching out to the community for help.
Woody and his famous hot dogs brought joy to many since 1977 when he and his wife started their hot dog business in Hartford, CT as a food cart. Woody's was a big supporter Harford by giving back to the community. Woody would volunteered to be Santa Claus for the Boys & Girls Club holiday party, after collections donation and holding events to raise money. In 1996, they opened up the Fish Tank bar a Miami Dolphin themed bar that was orange-and-aqua , once hosted Mercury Morris of the Miami Dolphin to raise money for the Boys and Girls club's party. In 2009 they received national exposure from Adam Richman on Man v. Food. People from around the Connecticut and the world knew and loved Woody and his hot dogs. Woody always love and appreciate so many of their customers.
Please consider donating if you can, as any amount will truly help to cover the cost of Woody’s funeral service.
It would mean a lot if you could share Woody's funeral fundraiser with others who knew him.
Thank you so much for your consideration,
