Pastor Bob and Colleen Hoffman Post-Ian Cleanup

Donation protected
Pastor Bob and Colleen Hoffman are (thankfully!) safe after Hurricane Ian struck their RV community in Fort Myers, FL on September 28, 2022. Their RV, however, was not so lucky.

Their kids -- Lynn Hoffman, Michelle Hoffman, Sarah Ray, and Matthew Hoffman -- are hoping you'll be able to help Bob and Colleen as they get back on their feet in the weeks and months to come.

How can you help?
Right now, Bob and Colleen need short-term access to cash to deal with immediate needs.
  • Their current temporary place to stay is further south in Naples, so the cost of gas to get back and forth to their RV piles up.
  • They'll need to find somewhere to store their trailer while insurance gets sorted out, and they'll need to hire someone to move it for them.
  • They're also on the hunt for affordable, safe housing for the longer term, which will no doubt require an up-front deposit.

What happened?
Fort Myers and Cape Coral, Florida sat basically in the eyewall of Hurricane Ian for several hours as it slowly made its way up the southeast coast of the state. Thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed, and thousands of people are struggling with the cleanup. Bob and Colleen have good insurance for their RV, but with so many people needing so much, it's likely to be quite a while before they'll get their claim resolved. In the meantime, finding a semi-permanent place to live that has power and water is a tremendous challenge. Michelle Hoffman and her husband Steve Roberts have opened their doors and offered help, but their roof sustained extensive wind damage, and their own cleanup is hampered by projections that they could be without power for weeks.

Any funds raised that Bob and Colleen don't end up needing for these short-term costs will be donated onward to the Southwest Florida Emergency Relief Fund, which is administered by the United Way of Lee, Hendry and Glades, and Collaboratory (formerly the Southwest Florida Community Foundation). Your donations will help someone affected by Hurricane Ian, no matter what.
