Many of you know me and know that my Dad, Michael Walker passed away in November 2021.

A couple years before he passed away he had my grandparents sell their house and move in with him and his wife in order to make things financially easier on my grandparents (he was the oldest and always felt the need to make sure that they were taken care of because that’s just the type of guy he was, he was also their POA) Two weeks before he passed away my Dad came to my grandfather (Poppy) and had told him should anything ever happen to him that both my Grandfather (Poppy) & Grandmother (Nanny) would be taken care of as he had a life insurance policy in place. He had put that policy in his wife’s name, in hopes that she would carry out his wishes. The policy was for $550,000. Enough to make sure that his wife and my grandparents were taken care of.

She has kept all of this money for herself but nor I, my brother or my grandparents ever said a word because we had all come to a mutual understanding that all we asked was for her to make sure my grandparents had a place to live. It’s been almost a year and half since my Dad died. Now suddenly out of no where my Dad’s wife has told my grandparents that “They need to move out of the house & that she will not help them financially to get a place & that she wants to watch out for herself & that she has helped them long enough” this has been influenced by her new boyfriend who is now looking to move into the house.

My grandparents have helped pay for anything they financially could in order to help out whenever there was a need to replace something or maintain anything in the house. They also pay for the monthly utilities for the house. They are 82 & 81 years old and neither of them work & live off of social security & a small annuity and they honestly can not afford a house or house payment on their income.

They had planned to live in this house till they died and now they are expected to find a place to live with no money and no where to go!! I am heartbroken and beyond disappointed in the actions my dads wife has decided to take. Anyone that knows my grandparents knows that they treated her like family, they took her to all her doctors appointments, helped her find a car, helped her retain health insurance, told everyone they knew about her massage business in order to help grow her business. They were her shoulder to cry on when my Dad died and she had no one to comfort her.

My grandparents (Pastor Bob & Bonnie Walker) have impacted this county and community in a way that will never be forgotten. From building churches, bringing people to Christ, Marriages, Funerals.. They have done so much & I am appalled that this is how she has decided to honor my Dad’s dying wish. They are not people that would ever ask for anything but unfortunately with the situation that they are in we are in need of a miracle.

We of course are praying that God will provide but we are also asking anyone who feels led to donate to help my Nanny & Poppy buy a house or lend a house for them to live here in Lake County near friends & family they love so that they can live out their days in the area they love and have loved and given too for so many years.
