Pastor John Atkins Medical Relief Fund

Donation protected
John Atkins is the Pastor of "The Refuge", a small Church in Mayodan, NC. A few months ago he started having some medical issues only to find out that he needs a Liver transplant related to Liver disease. He is working hard to meet the criteria for a Liver Transplant. He cannot Pastor the Church now because of the Disease. His wife Jerri is a hard worker and dedicated to helping others through her job, activities at the Church, which are too numerous to mention, has a daughter in College, which Jerri tries to help all she can and John's Mother lives with them also. John and Jerri both have dedicated their lives to Christ and the betterment of others. The Refuge's Facebook page ironically states, Jeremiah 29:11 "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I have been led to create this GoFundMe account with respect to that verse. God is wanting to Prosper and not Harm Jerri and John and for them to have a Future. Without a Transplant the Future isn't as bright for them. I do believe that GOD can do miracles faster than I can blink my eye and with much less effort. I also believe that HE gives "US" the good will of helping others in their time of need. They need and I'm doing my part. Will you guys help and do your part(s)? Pray about it and wait and listen for GOD's direction for you in this matter. I can't think of any better reason to help someone in their time of need.

Galatians 6:2 says "Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ".

Acts 20:35 "In everything I showed you that by working hard in this manner you must help the weak and remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”

2 Corinthians 8:12 "For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what one has, not according to what one does not have".

2 Corinthians 9:7 "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver".

2 Corinthians 9:10 "Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness".

Deuteronomy 15:10 " Give generously to them and do so without a grudging heart; then because of this the LORD your God will bless you in all your work and in everything you put your hand to".

Deuteronomy 16:10 "Each of you must bring a gift in proportion to the way the LORD your God has blessed you".

Hebrews 13:16 " And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased".

Luke 6:38 "Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.”

Malachi 3:10  "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the LORD Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it".

Proverbs 11:24-25 " One person gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds unduly, but comes to poverty. A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed".

I close this request with some startling facts: According to costaid.com the average Liver Transplant costs $300,000-$500,000. It can be as much as $750,000 according to costaddict.com. 20% of those cost is $60,000-$150,000 which is typical patient cost/portion of cost (not considering Maximum out of pocket limits). That's not counting the expenses that they are incurring now with the frequent Doctors visits, Hospitalizations etc.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this request. Pray about it. Give what you can and what GOD leads you to give. May GOD bless each and everyone. Please remember Jerri and John in your prayers as well.

UPDATE: John has been in and out of the Hospital for the last couple of months. Jerri, his wife, has been working at her job (As a Nurse) and trying to take care of John's needs and wants. The prognosis isn't getting better for John. He is not a candidate for transplant at this time because of his weight (partly due to fluid retention) and his weakened state. Without a transplant John's prognosis is bleak. I, along with Jerri and John, believe that GOD can still do a miracle. Either he can heal John here on our temporary earthly stay or he can HEAL John by calling him home to Glory. He can also choose to create a way for John to have a transplant here on Earth even though the Doctors are saying that it can't happen now. Again, GOD can perform a miracle quicker and with less effort than it takes for us to blink our eyes. Continue praying. Jerri is planning on taking care of John there at the home until GOD"s will is done. That means that there will be a lot less income to pay bills. This money raised will go to help with bills and whatever GOD's will is. Jerri also lost her Mom a couple of weeks ago as a result of COVID-19. Satan is really putting a lot on John and Jerri at this time. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and GOD bless each and everyone who reads this. Please forward this Heartfelt request to all people in your Social Networks and by word of mouth.
