Pastor Lou & Gail's Next

After 23 years of ministry, Pastor Lou and Gail are finally retiring from the lead pastor role at Praise Chapel. You might be expecting this couple to relax and start taking it easy. After all Pastor Lou will be 84 years old next year and Gail, well she's getting up there too, but she probably wouldn't want her age published online. But the truth is, they're NOT retiring. And we're not raising money for them to enjoy an exotic vacation somewhere.

Let me explain. You see, though they are retiring from pastoring, they're moving forward with their vision for the Starfish House , a transitional home for women who are transitioning out of prison. Over the last few months, God has provided in an amazing way. Through the help of some generous supporters, the ministry now has an old home that is being renovated.

Recently, God has put it on Pastor Lou and Gail's hearts to become the house managers. By accepting this role, they'll be living on the property and helping the women. Needless to say, this is a huge change and means selling their home and moving.

So why are we raising money? Obviously, whenever someone retires it's a nice gesture to give gifts and honor them for their work and years of service. However, Pastor Lou and Gail aren't just retiring—they're continuing to serve the Lord into their twilight years at the Starfish House. What few people realize is that they've already put over $15K of their personal funds into the house to make it better. If you know Lou and Gail, then you know their heart to serve the Lord.
