Firstly, we would like to thank everyone for their kind words, thoughts, and prayers during this difficult time. We are saddened to announce the beloved husband, devoted father, strong Man of God, Pastor, brother, and member of the Cement Mason Union has gone to be with the Lord. Due to the unexpected passing of our Father John Charles Flowers, we are reaching out to those he touched in his life.
John Charles Flowers was born on November 6, 1952, in the city of Inglewood, California to the parents of Charles Richard Flowers and Naomi Ruth Flowers. Brother to Michael and Cynthia Flowers. John is the husband to Dawn M. Flowers, celebrating 23 years of marriage on June 28th.  The father of 9 children; John L. Flowers Jr., Jennifer D. Tarrant-Flowers, Kaila N. Flowers, Cory R. Flowers, Kyle R. Flowers, Angeliqe M. Flowers, Maryanne M. Flowers, Michael C. Flowers, and Sean R. Flowers. And loving Papa to 14 grandchildren, 3 boys and 11 girls.
John was an active member of Cement Mason Local 500 for 45 years and Elected President in 2018. The many people and members, that crossed his path would consider him a legend in his industry. Many would see him as a leader of men and industry. His name was "Papa" whether on or off the job site. He stood strong on his beliefs of what was honorable in the eyes of God and quick to reject anything misguiding. Pops had a way of making people who weren't loved to feel like they were the most precious substance on Earth. It didn't matter who you were, where you came from, or what you stood for He embraced everyone with the absolute representation of Agape Love. He is greatly acknowledged for his integrity, honor, respect, joy, compassion, and love for all. His truly unconditional love for others constantly seen nothing, but God's beloved children.
Everywhere Papa John went his presence was always known. The Spirit of God flowed through him and he was God's vessel to ensure every person knew how much God loved them and had a plan for greatness in their life. He consistently expressed his love for his family, embracing them in hugs that only Papa could give. Never did he miss an opportunity to tell each and every one of you that he loved you with his whole heart!
Pastor John devoted his whole life towards the passion and love for Jesus Christ. His mission in life reflected that he was about His Father's business. Before Pastor's birth, he was prophesied by his Grandfather, John Lewis Sutton, to pass on his mantle. His whole life that spoken word was made evident in every chapter of his life, answering the call of God. The Church of God ordained Pastor John and he became the Pastor over Family Faith Tabernacle.
Papa will be missed by everyone that knew him. He is with us in spirit and mind. He will live on through the lessons he has taught us. Hold tight to the experiences and stories he loved to share, as he was never shy to shower us with. And by this, he will live on each and every day through us. Be bold like Papa to love your enemies, seek the lost, and love like Jesus loves you.
Lastly, we leave you with Papa John's favorite verse:
"And we know that ALL things work together for good to those who Love God, to those who are called according to His Purpose." Romans 8:28
