Pastor Sharon Hernandez's Medical Expenses

Hi, we are Eric and Cindy Noel, the directors of Sowing Seeds in Belize. We are raising funds to help to defray (and hopefully fully-fund) the cost of Pastor Sharon's medical expenses.

 

Pastor Sharon and her husband Pastor Victor Hernandez lead the congregation at Toledo Faith Outreach Christian Center in southern Belize, a partner ministry to Sowing Seeds in Belize. They serve their congregation, their community, and the region tirelessly, most weeks for 60 hours+, with little to no financial compensation, and they are in need of our help.

 

Sharon has been diagnosed with on ovarian cyst that is the size of a baseball as part of a routine exam. These cysts can rupture or twist requiring immediate emergency medical attention--which is generally not possible or available here in Belize. Her gynecologist has strongly encouraged the immediate removal of this cyst in a controlled environment rather that taking a chance with what might happen in an emergency situation.

 

She has also been diagnoses with a fatty nodule that is pinching the ulnar nerve as well as the ulnar artery. This cyst is causing numbness, and limiting blood flow to the hand and fingers resulting in a loss of function along with swelling and random bruising caused by the capillary damage to the area.

 

On top of all of this, she also has a sciatic issue which is causing excruciating radiating pain from her back down the back of her leg. Because of the costs involved with consultations, x-rays, and diagnoses she has yet to have this assessed professionally. Unfortunately, this ailment has led to weeks at a time laid up unable to leave the house. She has been battling this pain since last summer with days and weeks of low pain levels where she  serving and working only to re-agitate the injury worse than it was before . Her only treatment has been OTC pain killers and an occasional muscle relaxant via an intra-muscular injection.

 

Because of the limited and sometimes rationed public healthcare in Belize, it has been strongly encouraged that she go to a private facility where they are better able to provide excellance in preoperative and post operative care. The $7,000 is a rough estimate of what will be needed for transportation, travel, preoperative testing, the surgeries, postoperative care, and diagnosis and treatment for her back issue.

 

Any amount that you are able to give will go 100% towards the medical care needed to get this very special woman of God back on her feet and back where she belongs...in His service!
