Pastor Steve Swan - Funeral & Memorial Fund

It is with great sadness to inform you of the passing of my Father, Winston Stephen Swan on Friday, April 24th. He was 69 years old and taken from us far too soon from the coronavirus.

As hard as this may be, the word of God reminds us of this unavoidable truth when it says, “Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” - James 4:14 King James Version.

This was my father's favorite version of the Bible. The original version for an original man. One who was always first. He was the first sibling, the first cousin, the first uncle, the first with a color television, the first to graduate University, the first to come to America, and on and on.

He was truly a remarkable man. If you were blessed to know him, he left an indelible impression on you. His presence was a gift, his mind expansive, his wisdom boundless, his spirit gentle.

He would give you the shirt off his back, the food off his plate, and the last couple dollars he had. He did this without fanfare. Or expectations of anything in return. That’s who he was. He was selfless. And contented. Gracious and kind.

He was an awesome orator. A pastor’s pastor. To hear him speak was a privilege. He could take one scripture verse and preach on it for hours. He made you laugh consistently, think continually and strive to be a better human. He married people and buried others. He dedicated babies and took great care of his very own.

He was always there. At the ready. To save the day. Whoever’s day needed saving. Because it was never about him. It was always about the people. And his family. And God. He didn’t need much to be happy. He knew he was loved.

We are so proud of this man and honored to have known him. He’s pastored almost fifty years in several countries greatly impacting the lives of many, from family, friends and strangers alike. And now we have an opportunity to honor him one last time.

We are raising funds so that we can give him the proper send off he deserves and ensure that his lovely wife is taken care of. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated and would help immensely. You can also feel free to share with anyone you feel led to.

We truly appreciate all the love, condolences and well wishes. It truly means the world to us.

Our incredible Father is survived by his wife of 45 years, his three children, eight grandchildren and other family members here in the states and Bermuda.

With great thanks and gratitude,

Kevin Swan and the family of the late great Winston Stephen Swan
