Pastor Tim Hearon

On Wednesday, May 17th, while on a family vacation, Pastor Tim Hearon of Chico Community Church had a bad wipeout boogie-boarding. He slammed his head and neck into the sand, compressing his cervical spine and spinal cord. Due to the fractured vertebrae and torn ligaments in his neck, his spinal cord does not have sufficient room to heal. Tim is scheduled to have surgery on Tuesday, May 23rd in San Jose, which will be followed by 3-5 days in ICU and then up to 2 weeks in acute rehab at the hospital. During surgery they will remove a piece of his vertebrae, giving his spinal cord room, and they will put a metal plate in to give his neck the stability it needs.

The Hearon Family would love and appreciate your prayers for Tim, wisdom and excellence for the doctors, for the hand of God to be at work in healing Tim, and for the entire family to have peace throughout the coming weeks. Tim has been doing an incredible job of clinging to the promises of God during his time in the hospital. He's been very encouraged by Hudson Taylor! This is a quote he sent out the day after his accident:
