Pastor Tommy Cox Medical Fund

Pastor Tommy Cox, senior pastor of The Sanctuary at Maryville since 2000, has been in ministry for over 50 years. For 5 decades, he has pastored, planted new churches, and even founded a church school. He has been a mentor to countless men and women called into ministry, helping them trust–and live–the scripture that says, “The LORD directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives”(Psalm 37:23, NLT). In 2023, Pastor Tommy was diagnosed with T-Cell Prolymphocytic Leukemia (T-PLL). T-PLL is so rare that only 6 people within SC are currently being treated for the disease. As he and his wife, Ginny, move forward with faith and confidence in the Lord as his healer, Pastor Tommy is currently receiving treatment 3 times each week and is preparing for a bone marrow transplant in the near future, which will require a month-long stay after the procedure. After the transplant, he and Mrs. Ginny are looking at general needs for travel expenses, meals, and possible housing for 100 days post-transplant.While neither Pastor nor Mrs. Ginny would seek assistance during this time, those who love them would like to offer an opportunity to sow into their lives, just as they have sown into the lives of countless others.Even while dealing with illness, Pastor is still seeking ways to minister and serve the Lord. Although in almost total isolation, he still mentors others via phone, text, and email. He writes and posts devotionals as often as possible, and is so determined to function in ministry that his tech team is working on a remote link so that he can participate in services from his home. The Apostle Paul explains that “...the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.” Pastor Tommy is living proof that ministry does not stop just because the enemy attacks. Wherever he is, he embraces every opportunity to tell those around him that he serves a God who saves, heals, and delivers–that nothing is impossible for his God. If you feel led to bless Pastor Tommy and Mrs. Ginny as they walk this journey in full faith that God is walking each step with them, prayerfully consider contributing to the GoFundMe link below. Their family and church family pray that God will richly bless you all.
