Pat Leonhardt Memorial Scholarship

Hi,

My name is Suki Tabor, a lifelong friend of Susan and Patrick's. The two of them have given a great deal to every community they have lived in from Rhode Island to Hawaii. They are some of the most caring and giving people I have ever known and always take care of the people lucky enough to know them. Pat served in the Navy for over 30 years and they have lived in Kailua, Hawaii for many years. Being part of the Kailua Canoe Club has been very important to both Pat and Susan. While we are incredibly sad that Pat is no longer with us, we are grateful that he is no longer in pain.

We will be celebrating Pat's life on September 30, 2023 at Kailua Beach Park. There are so many things to treasure, remember and celebrate about Pat. His sense of humor, his work ethic, how much he cared about people and so much more. When thinking about the best way to honor Pat and create a legacy that will live on, Pat's family decided to create a scholarship fund in his honor.

Pat has held many titles in his life and one of the ones that he held very dear was that of coach with the Kailua Canoe Club. He really enjoyed the connections he made with his boys and the being able to mentor and work with them both on and off the water. This was something that he was not only passionate about but it gave him great joy.

The scholarship fund will be part of Kailua Canoe Club and will support the young people coming up through KCC and participating in canoe paddling. All donations will go directly into this fund.
