Pat Hoffmann's Cancer Battle

October 2020 hit hard with the news of our Mothers stage 4 cervical cancer diagnosis. Hopeful we remained as the chemotherapy treatments seemed to be doing their job. Recently, her team of doctors at the University of Iowa hospital, made the decision to discontinue chemotherapy as it was no longer proving effective in fighting this battle, and recommended an immunotherapy. 

 

After the first infusion, our Mom's body basically attacked itself. Her liver and kidneys were no longer functioning properly, nearly on the brink of failure, malignant ascites returned to her stomach and lungs after multiple drainings, and discouragement followed.

 

Our Mom is beyond strong and we still believe in her ability to fight through this journey, but the medical bills are stacking up. She no longer has the strength to get up the stairs to her bedroom, so any funds raised in addition to paying the medical bills, will go toward arrangements to making life at home more comfortable. 

 

Our family is so appreciative of all of the love and support given to her over the past 16 months. Please continue to keep her in your prayers! If you are not financially able to contribute to this, please continue to express your well wishes to our Mom!
