Pat McDonald's Davinci's Wing Home

DaVinci’s Wing is the last sculpture that Pat McDonald created before his sudden and tragic death in July 2015. The sculpture was constructed on the local McDonald family farm in 2015, then transported to Chicago and then installed on a lease program in Lincoln Park. Since then Pat McDonald, the artist, passed away as result of a construction accident.  His son, Vincent, and his widow, Terri would like to see the sculpture have a good home by bringing it home to a new park under construction in Watertown, where Pat was born, raised and went to school where all can see, visit and enjoy. The sculpture must be moves by May 2017.

Pat McDonald was a graduate of Watertown High School, Willmar MN Community College, St. Cloud State University and obtained a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from University of Northern Illinois before moving to Chicago area. He became known in the Chicago art community for various styles and types of art he made. He was also a general contractor that took him to many unusual remodeling jobs, fixing historic buildings, and setting the sculptures on Pier Walk on Navy Pier. He also has other sculptures placed in Skokie, Oak Park Illinois, Raleigh North Carolina, and several on the east coast and in Wisconsin.  He was noted to be an inspiration to young artists and presented at Watertown-Mayer schools for Fine Arts classes.  He believed that his sculptures should be viewed, touched and experienced when completed. People that knew or worked with Pat noted his outgoing personality and loud laugh as he produced different forms of art.

This is a project  that will not only bring peace to the family but also joy and art to the community.
