Pat Miller Kidney Transplant

Donation protected

We are Jenn & Don Miller III and are raising money for Don’s mother, Pat. Pat n Don Miller Sr. are incredibly private individuals and never ask anyone for anything. We are raising funds to help offset the expenses that Pat and Don Sr. will and have endured through this recent surgery. The subsequent surgery will be a kidney transplant, and more costs will be incurred. Pat is a loving and caring person. She would help anyone in a time of need. She adores her grandchildren and would love to return to baking cookies with them.

On November 11, 2022, Pat underwent reconstructive surgery of the ostomy. Her surgery team had two plans, Plan A and Plan B. Plan B were used. While she was in surgery, they found a mass on her ovaries, so they removed both ovaries with the fallopian tubes. Her procedure took 8 hours to complete. After her surgery, her blood markers decreased, and the doctors needed to insert an emergency port for dialysis. Pat began Dialysis the same day the port was placed. She has been undergoing dialysis three times weekly to get the toxins out of her blood. Pat is scheduled to get another port put in so that it’s permanent once she is discharged. Pat is currently seeing physical and occupational therapy during her stay at Dartmouth. Once Pat is released, she will need to go to dialysis three times weekly until a new kidney is placed. Don, her son, stepped up to the plate. He has officially qualified for this transplant to occur once Pat is recovered from the reconstructive surgery. The kidney transplant is estimated to be in a couple of months. Her journey is far from over, and she will be required to spend more time at the hospital and be on more medications, not to mention what she is already going through, along with loss of income.
Don Sr. has been going back n forth to Dartmouth and home, which is a 2-hour drive one way. He has been trying to work in addition to helping his wife and all the communication between Pats doctors. He has already had hotel stays, fuel, food, etc.
We are requesting any help that anyone could give to ease their burdens would be greatly appreciated. We want Pat to focus on her recovery instead of financial hardship in the coming months. As they become available, we will update Pat's progress over time.

Thank you all in advance for your donations! The support means a lot to Pat and Don!
