You know me for reporting only "Good News."
The news is not so good for me at this time. I have been diagnosed with "triple negative breast cancer" in December 2016. "Triple Negative" is a rare and aggressive breast cancer.
The "Good News" is I am confident in the team I have chosen at NY Presbyterian Hospital. I begin 5 months of chemo on February 2, then surgery. I am spiritually ready for this battle. However, the other challenge I will have is to be able to maintain my business - The Harlem Community News, Inc.
My business is my only source of income. I have maintained it for more than 20 years by doing a lot of the jobs myself. I have done the research and interviewed others who have gone through aggressive chemo and I am clear that I may have a few bad days of no energy. I also will be homebound as I need to avoid as many people as possible being susceptible to bacteria. I have placed people in place who are now learning to do all the jobs I have done to keep the business going. However, those people need to get paid. Of course this event happened at the most inconvenient times when I also have other expenses that need to be taken care of so that I can concentrate on my journey with this cancer.
I am asking you to make a donation of $25 or more if you can to help me through this journey. Also if you have a business, now would be a good time to advertise in the Harlem Community News.
I look forward to getting back to you in 8 months or so about the "Good News" that with your help I will beat this cancer and be able to continue the Harlem Community News.
All prayers are welcomed.
