Do you want to help create a more accessible future of work? A future where we remove barriers that currently exclude so many from work and prevent others from thriving in their jobs? Globally, millions are missing from employment because there is no accessible or sustainable way for them to work. Patchwork Hub is changing this.

Patchwork Hub is a disabled-led, female-led social enterprise and accessible employment platform working to lead a culture change around work and accessibility. When our founder’s chronic health conditions left her unemployed, it was through meeting others in the same position that she developed the vision for Patchwork Hub. Since then, we’ve built the world’s first disabled-led mainstream employment platform.

The pandemic has changed the world of work, but despite flexible and remote working making a breakthrough, the problem is actually worsening. The disability employment gap is growing and Patchwork Hub’s hidden talent pool, carers, parents and disabled people, were more than twice as likely to have been made unemployed as a result of Covid.

What we do

We connect employers to highly-skilled professionals who are looking for work opportunities outside the conventional 9 to 5 office job. Our platform enables a hidden talent pool, from disabled people through to carers and parents, to find work and thrive.

From early career positions through to senior-level roles across a range of businesses, including FTSE100 companies and global corporations, we’ve already placed many disabled candidates into roles.

Not only this, but we work closely with employers to help them improve the accessibility and inclusivity of their workplace and recruitment practices. We want accessible practices to be mainstreamed into the way everyone works, front and centre of a new way of working.

What we’ve achieved so far
  • Launched our new jobs platform which has already placed members of our hidden talent pool into permanent employment.
  • Piloted our Patchworker Placement Internship scheme with +35 leading UK universities, placing talented disabled undergraduates into paid employment.
  • Disrupted the mainstream startup space, listed No.1 of TechRound's ‘Top 17 Disability Startups to watch’ globally.
  • Won international awards, including ‘Highly Commended SME’ at Business Disability Forum's 2021 Awards (other winners include Unilever, Microsoft and KPMG)
  • Our founder, Beth has been listed in the Disability Power 100, as one of the ‘most influential disabled people in the UK’ and as a Tech Leader of 2022.
  • Recognised as award-winning recruiters - including recognition as Disability Specialist Award Finalist, 2021 Recruitment Industry (RIDI) Awards.
  • Audience Favourite Award Winner, Google and 2GI's tech cohort and accelerator.

How you can help

We are a small but dedicated disabled-led team, working to build our reach and impact organically with very limited funds. As for so many businesses, Covid-19 has been very difficult for our social enterprise, so while we have successfully made it through the various lockdowns and changes to client budgets and priorities, we have had to reduce capacity in some areas.

By supporting our cause today, your contributions will directly feed into support for our work and what we are building, such as the following:
  • Improving the accessibility of our platform to ensure it’s accessible and inclusive for all.
  • Accessibility provisions to ensure our educative workshops can be accessible (e.g. BSL translation and live captioner).
  • Paying it forward: Contributing to the day-to-day running and continuation of our social enterprise and securing further opportunities for our community.
  • Awareness-raising campaigns, including reimbursing Patchworkers for their time.
  • Accessibility user testing of our site, so we can properly reimburse disabled people for their time and expertise.
Even a small donation can make a big impact. With your help, we can drive forward change towards a better world of work, where every individual able and wanting to work is given the opportunity to thrive.

We are a small but dedicated certified social enterprise with a clear social mission: a more accessible and inclusive future of work.

So, can you help us help others? Your donation to our growing and award-winning social enterprise could really make a difference. Thank you so much for your support!
