Help Pat Garza Recover from Harvey
Donation protected
On Sunday August 27th, 2017, our mother, Pat Garza, lost everything to a flood caused by Hurricane Harvey. Her home and vehicle were flooded with more than 5 feet of water that had spilled out from Cypress Creek, located just north of her neighborhood.
This house was built in 1972 by our father, Manuel Garza, who was a custom home builder and specialized in custom cabinetry, doors, and trim. It has been the site to countless celebrations and a lifetime of memories for our entire family. Manuel & Pat celebrated more than 40 wonderful years together under this roof. Manuel passed away in 2015 and Pat has continued living in this home, keeping his memory alive.

Pat was lucky enough to escape before the water came into her home, but the entire contents of her home and vehicle were lost to this flood. So much water flooded the house that the furniture floated into other rooms and fish were found still swimming in the living room on the day we were finally able to enter the house. The house is unlivable and the vehicle is a total loss.
We (her children, grandchildren, spouses, and friends) are reaching out to those who want to help. Please consider a donation, big or small, to help our mom recover from this storm. Pat is 81 years old and lives on a limited fixed income. The money collected will help her with living expenses, the purchase of a vehicle, and to rebuild this house if possible, or relocate.
During this time of recovery she will be staying with family until she can find something more long term. We will continue to update this gofundme page throughout Pat's recovery progress so you can stay connected.
Thank you!
