Pathways to Care Dedication Plaque
Donation protected
My name is Clayton Berardi, and I am a prospective Eagle Scout with Troop 24 in Orlando. I am building a sensory garden of multiple raised beds, a fountain, and other landscaping to promote a peaceful and healing environment for my beneficiary. Sensory gardens are clinically proven to mitigate neurological symptoms, aid development, and stimulate the nervous system.
My beneficiary is a nonprofit secondary care facility called Pathways to Care in Casselberry, Florida. Pathways to Care is a post-hospital resource for homeless patients without a safe place to heal from injury, illness, or another medical setback. People who are otherwise ineligible for an inpatient bed can reside there as they heal. This organization immediately called to me because it serves primarily the homeless veteran population in this area, and many in my family have served or are serving in the military. I know how much sacrifice military service members and their families make to protect our country, and I want to share my gratitude with those who may feel forgotten.
I am fundraising for a small bronze dedication plaque to be installed at the entrance of the sensory garden to honor the residents and staff at Pathways to Care. I want them to feel hopeful as they heal and remember that they are seen. The cost estimate with tax and shipping is just under $450. Any amount not paid towards the plaque will be donated directly to Pathways to Care.
Thank you for reading about my project!
