Patrese; Together in Love and Life for the Care of Family.

Hello, to all who may see this and share this. My name is Andre Parks. My mother, Patrese Parks-Horner, passed on peacefully at home, on this past Sunday morning. At 7:35AM, comfortably in her bed, in her home; with her husband Brian Horner holding her hand.

She was diagnosed with esophageal cancer back in January of this year. Stage 4, but it wasn’t terminal cancer at the time. She was given an 85% survival rate. She was doing so well after her surgery and looked so good full of life and energy. Always praising God; our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ.

It was all looking so good. So good, that I finally came around to having faith again. Having the belief that all will be okay through God and taking each day as it came. My brother, her son, Dean passed away not even 2-years ago and we had to come together as a family for him and my momma. Especially after her diagnosis. We all came together, as a family. Richelle, Brian, me (Andre), and Mom.

I don’t know what else to say. We all thought this would get better up until her legs started hurting more and more and she couldn’t even walk or get out of the bed. Brian had gotten her a walker to help and she used it until she couldn’t anymore. I still can’t believe you’re gone momma. I’m sorry, I can’t fully process how I’m even writing this.

I will ask that God, our Lord & Savior Jesus Christ give me the strength and courage daily. Grant me the Serenity, God, to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things; and the wisdom to know the difference.
