Patricia Ann Schillaci Memorial Scholarship

The Patricia (Patty) Ann Schillaci Memorial Scholarship has been established to assist students at Pittston Area High School in Pittston, PA in their pursuit of a college education in the STEM field. This scholarship will honor her life as an educator for 34 years, from 1976 to 2010. Additionally, she was the Key Club advisor advocating for community service, math department chair, and senior class advisor for many years throughout her career at Pittston Area High School.

 

Patty passed away on June 5th, 2021, unexpectedly at home. She was 66 years old. Patty attended Exeter High School and then it became Wyoming Area High School, which she graduated from in 1972. After high school, she attended Wilkes University, class of 1976, where she received her master's degree in education and two bachelor’s degrees, one in science and mathematics and the other in Spanish.

 

Her death is a great loss to the Pittston Area community. She left a lasting impact on her friends, family, and every student who came through her classroom doors. To honor Patty’s memory and continue her love for education, we thank you for your donation and hope to keep her memory alive through this scholarship. The scholarship will be presented at Pittston Area’s Senior Night this coming May/June 2022, once the date is announced. We hope to raise $3,140 to represent Pi in mathematics, one of Patty’s favorite day during the school year (Pi Day).
