Patricia Caluette's GoFundMe Medical Donation
Donation protected
If you know Patricia Caluette, you know why this fundraiser is being held. That being said, this account is being created and managed by Jacob, Josh, Sarah, and Hannah Caluette and is currently reaching out to any family, friends, coworkers, affiliates, and anyone and everyone that my Mother has relationships with.
Anyone that knows this loving and caregiving and selfless woman would never ask anyone of anything, but in turn give you the clothes off her own back...
May need some assistance herself once in a lifetime.
For anyone unaware of my mother's current status, she is currently recovering from a serious car accident that occured approx. 1:30PM Thursday, May 2nd less than 1 mi from her office.
Full details of the incident have yet to be confirmed and still under investigation.
I am making this GoFundMe account because my mother would never ask for help from any of you, but in all honesty she requires quite alot of things we are not equipped to handle just yet. I want to be sure she gets everything and anything she needs to continue her healing process which is going to be at least another 8 weeks before she can even consider walking/standing physical therapy. My mom is going to be bed ridden for 8 weeks entirely before she can even think about getting up. This is going to be utter hell for her having to stop and sit still and heal as well as the medical treatments and appointments, and care she is going to need over the next several months. I want my mother to be able to know everything is taken care of so she can relax and take the time she needs to properly heal so she can go back to her life.
This being said, the known injuries we are treating and/or have already recovered from include but not limited to:
Roughly 40 stitches into her face, nose, back of head, and right knee (Noone has complete count as all current stitches were during ER trauma dept. Upon arrival, and more will likely be needed in future healing processes as not all wounds are closeable at this time)
Fractured/broken nose
Multiple broken ribs
Slightly punctured right lung
Severely bruised left lung
Fractured c6 cervical neck bone (currently using neck brace, estimated recovery 8 weeks without removal for healing processes)
Fractured sacrum (tail bone/lowest spine)
Broken pelvis on both sides requiring emergency 3 implant screws for reconstruction and healing
Contusion on lower back, skin (sacrum exterior) separating fat/skin/muscle tissue apart separating amass tissue cells and destroying skin cell trees that form outer skin layers.
This created a hematoma (blood clot/sack of coagulated blood) requiring surgery for removal and approx. 2-6 week wound vacuum to allow inner tissue to repair itself before outer tissue can be repaired via (stitches, bandages, ect.) Without other hematomas/infections/skin leiosions forming during healing processes
Fractured tailbone/sacrum but minor injury not requiring further surgery after the pelvis implants.
4 stitches to left knee
Road rash to forehead/scalp, back of head, upper lip, upper and lower back, both elbows/arms, top of knuckles on both hands (right side deepest almost to bone), left knee where stitches were needed
The bruising is just about entire body. Left, eye, lung, arm, knee/ right hand, knee, shoulder are worst and mostly visable. Internally could be more but mom's body refuses to acknowledge is my best guess because theres no way thats all
Anyways she's making great progress in her healing, and I will continue to update this as she and time progresses. From my own investigative work without the final police report and seeen from crash site and impounded car, it's a miracle of God she's in 1 piece let alone alive. This woman birthed 4 children naturally, and 2 at home with one of those a breech.
Patti, the one recovering from a freak accident and sitting up in bed 48hrs after all of this.
She's been hospitalized currently for 72 hours and after Roughly 54 hours no longer is on any opioids, but is healing herself on vitamins, Tylenol, and one muscle relaxer.
God is not done with Patricia Caluette and by a miracle I want to make sure she gets to enjoy every last minute of it because she deserves it!
If my mother has had an impact on your life. I'm requesting on her behalf the assistance she needs to afford her 2nd chance at the life she has always deserved and wants most right now. To walk and hike this planet again and not in any pain to do so.
She would never approve of this page so please keep this GoFundMe private and from her knowledge until we get her back on her feet.
I have a low set goal for this GoFundMe because everything she Needs medically will/should be covered, but this is for Her! This is for her and her choice what to do with <3 it is donation for my mother to donate or use for things she needs and doesn't have.
This is my first and probably only GoFundMe I'll ever create because it's for mom and she needs it.
Thank you in advance for your support and I know my mom has the support from everyone she has contact with. ❤️ I want her to know it too!
Again I'll update this as time progresses for anyone who isn't in the closer family circles on updates of her current wellbeing.

Finally moved her out of Progressive care unit (PCU) and into a normal recovery room in the hospital. Vitals are all normal and she's not on as intensive care monitoring. Everything is healing well but creating alot of itching and driving her mad with the neck brace on top it all. We've made progress though and she's been able to get into a wheelchair mostly all be herself with supervision. Learning to scoot herself without twisting her body and using her legs is a struggle for her. Sitting still is her biggest struggle and still not have her bladder working on her own just yet. She's doing much better though and feeling much better.

Mom had her wound vacuum removed and replaced with suction bulbs as her wound is closing and was able to be stitched up a bit since her hematoma was removed it left a cavern between the muscle and skin that's getting stitched up for less wound fillers. :D progress!
5/20/24
Apologies for not updating this accordingly...way too much going on around here with our family. Patti was making great recovery processes and set to be released on 5/23 for home Healthcare and in wheelchair, but things have taken a turn and nosedive and she became numb and tingling in her legs and arms and upper lip/jaw and had issues with eating her breakfast. More tests are being done to find out what the source is. CT scans and MRI's scheduled
5/23 AM
All of her scans came back clear so they couldn't quite figure out what was happening to mom, it is theorized she may be having a case of GBS (Guillain-Barré syndrome) a paralysis syndrome where your immune system attacks the nerves causing paralysis. More tests needed to confirm like a spinal tap/lumbar puncture.
5/23 PM
Spinal tap came back positive for GBS and has already started treatments to stop the spread of this internal conflict. Mom has lost all motion in her upper jaw to top of head and arms and legs have become completely numb/tingling and she can no longer feed herself or hold a cup to drink from. She's become almost fully quadriplegic. :(
5/25
After 3/5 IVIG IV treatments her lungs seem to be a little weaker (side affects of the medication) but can use her left arm from elbow to fingers but very weakly...the rest of her body still tingling and cannot move or lift. She can still feel everything and wiggle her toes and ankles and fingers, but that's about it.
5/26
4/5 treatments completed and the spread of this nerve attack seems to be slowed or haulted. Hopefully no further damages to her nerves and no respitory issues will continue in the future, but no progress has been made on recovery. Doctors say even after all the 5 treatments it can take weeks up to months to regain and repair nerve damages and become mobile again, but they have high hopes as do we. She's feeling quite miserable not even being able to move or feed or clean herself as she was less than a week ago on the great healing process from her car injuries.
Currently hoping the process has been stopped in its tracks and she can start to heal and recover from the nerve damages. She has almost already healed fully in her neck and is able to remove her neck brace unless she's getting out of bed, so that's something of progress. Her car injuries are healing well and no infections or issues seem to be of concern, but still under observation.
