Remembering Patricia Gontsana: A Pillar of Strength and Love
My name is Spiwe Shana, a close friend and confidante of the late Patricia Gontsana, a remarkable woman whose journey from South Africa to the UK 21 years ago has been a testament to resilience and love. As a mother of three loving sons, Patricia's life was a beacon of hope and strength, especially for her two teenage boys in the UK.
The world turned upside down for Patricia's family on October 1st 2023, when she suffered a massive, fatal cardiac arrest, leading to irreversible brain injury.
After 19 harrowing days in the Intensive Care Unit, fighting bravely against all odds, Patricia succumbed to her illness on October 19, 2023.
Her passing was peaceful, yet it left an irreplaceable void in the lives of her sons. Incidentally, two of her sons are teenagers and are still in full-time education.
Today, on behalf of the community, we reach out to you with a heavy heart, seeking support to give Patricia the respectful farewell she deserves. Unfortunately, in recent years, Patricia has been unwell and unable to work. This, as you can imagine, has placed a financial strain on her boys as they are at a shortfall in planning for their mum's funeral costs. So they need our help.
Since the death of their mother, the two boys have been living with a close friend of Patricia's, supported by the community. They have been looking after the boys and are now helping them with the funeral arrangements.
The immediate goal is to raise funds for her funeral and burial in the UK. The cost of the funeral arrangements is approximately £4000. Financial help from the community will help her sons lay their beloved mother to rest.
If there is any money left over, it will help establish a new home where they can find solace and begin to heal.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will be a step towards restoring stability and hope in the lives of Patricia's sons. In this moment of despair, your generosity can light the path towards a more secure future for these young lives.
Unfortunately, I have to write this page to seek financial support. With this in mind and on behalf of Patricia’s boys, her church, friends, and the school, we express our deepest gratitude for your donations and support.
Your kindness is not just a gift of money; it's a powerful message of solidarity and compassion that transcends boundaries.
Please consider sharing this page with your network. Together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of Patricia's sons.
Patricia's legacy is one of love, resilience, and undying spirit. As we come together to support her sons, we keep alive the essence of what she stood for - a better, brighter future for the next generation.
God Bless you all, and thank you for your generosity.
Spiwe on behalf of the community.
