Patricia's Brain Surgery Medical Bills

Imagine what our friend Patricia Young is going through. She entered Cedars Sinai Hospital on Dec 15 to have serious surgery for a large but not malignant brain tumor. She was walking, talking, working, laughing, living on her own and a fully functioning member of the community.

Two days after her surgery, while still in the recovery ward, she had a stroke which paralyzed most of her left side. Suddenly, she’s not only recovering from brain surgery, but a debilitating stroke.

The good news is that she walked 60 feet after intensive physical therapy which is still continuing. Her neurosurgeon tells her she’ll recover full functioning in a year. But she faces huge expenses as she must continue the physical and occupational therapy when her Medicare coverage runs out on April 10. She must transition from her second floor apartment into a more accessible living situation. And she relies on a small network of friends to help her with this.

Patricia has been a TM teacher for 47 years. She taught in Palm Springs. She ran the Beverly Hills TM Center for 6 years and made it the top center in the US. She was twice named “TM Teacher of the Year”. She had taught over 3000 people. She continues to uplift all those she encounters.
