Dearest Hearts

It is so lovely to be here with you today. I hope that you are well.

I have shied away from doing this as I am aware that I am not good at asking for help, especially when it is for me. Of necessity, I find myself in need of a hip replacement urgently as my mobility issues seem to go from bad to worse.

The Irish system differs from the UK and without health insurance, I am looking at a waiting list of years.

I can have it done privately in a few weeks for a bill of £13,000 for the operation. (I really need it done asap.)

It is a lot of money when Bill and I are simply living on pensions and mostly retired from therapy work. Don’t get me wrong, we get by and have saved a little. However, nothing like what I need for this.

If you feel you can, would you give something to the fund, whether large or small? I

would be most grateful and appreciative of every penny. We are also putting our savings into the pot.

If it feels right in your heart, then please help.
