To Patrick's Friends, Family, Burning Man and Art Community,
It is with heavy hearts that we come together to support the memory of our beloved friend and artist, Patrick Gavin Duffy. Patrick was not just a talented artist but also an integral part of the Burning Man community, spreading creativity and positivity wherever he went.
Recently, Patrick faced the unexpected health challenges of stage 4 lung cancer and despite the valiant fight, he left us too soon. In honor of his vibrant spirit and the incredible contributions he made to the world of art and the Burner community, we are reaching out for your help.
We are launching this GoFundMe campaign to raise funds for Patrick's medical costs and debt incurred during his treatment, as well as to ensure a smooth transition of his cherished Bear Garden Art to Linda, his close companion. The funds will also be used to clean out Patrick's art studio, preserving his artistic legacy, and organizing a celebration of life memorial befitting the incredible person he was.
Your generosity will make a significant impact during this difficult time.
Your donation will help with the following:
- Medical Costs and Debt Incurred During Treatment: The funds will help alleviate the financial burden of medical debts and cover the business expenses incurred during his treatment.
- Transfer of Bear Garden Art: We aim to ensure that Patrick's artistic creations live on by facilitating the transfer of Bear Garden Art to Linda, allowing his legacy to endure. Funds will enable her to keep the production of DeadBearWear alive and growing and also complete Patrick's wish to archive and make more of his beautiful photographs available.
- Cleaning Out the Art Studio: Your support will aid in organizing and cleaning out Patrick's art studio, preserving his artwork and memories for those who loved and admired him.
- Celebration of Life Memorial and Art Exhibit September 21-22, 2024- We have changed the memorial and art exhibit date and location to coincide with he Sacramento Open Studios weekend 2. This will give both friends and the community at large an opportunity to celebrate Patrick's life, art and fascination with the American River. Watch for more details once the official program has been released.
- Memorial Chair and Donor Plaque: A memorial chair and donor plaque at the soon to be completed Black Box Theater in the newly renovated Plaza Park in Fair Oaks, Ca.
Let's join hands to support Patrick Duffy's legacy and ensure that his art continues to inspire and bring joy to others. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful impact. Share this campaign with friends, family, and fellow Burners and artists to spread the word.
Thank you for honoring Patrick's memory and helping us carry on his artistic legacy.
With gratitude,
