Patrick John Bell, Supporting the Bell Family

It is with great sadness to inform the Hill Team and the Chicagoland Construction Industry that Patrick J. Bell passed away on Saturday May 4, 2024, surrounded by family.

Patrick was born in Dubuque, Iowa and grew up in Dyersville, Iowa where he played football and ran on the track team. He graduated from Northwestern University in 2008 with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.

Patrick started his career with Hill Mechanical Corp. as a summer intern in 2006 and interned with Hill for his remaining two years of college. Upon graduating from Northwestern University, Patrick started full time with Hill Mechanical Corp. and became a leader within the company over the past sixteen years rising to the level of Project Executive. Pat was known in the industry for being an excellent engineer, having an easy-going mannerism which helped him form many relationships with clients and was always on top of his game when it came to managing projects. Throughout the years Pat was the designer on numerous design build projects and the project executive on numerous exciting projects that were built throughout Chicago. Patrick was responsible for successfully leading the following projects throughout his career: 1000M, 300 North Michigan Avenue, 320 North Canal, 354 Union, O’Hare Chiller Replacement Project, 845 West Madison, Macy’s and numerous Data Centers.

Patrick was an avid sports fan, and his favorite sports teams were the Northwestern Wildcats, Dallas Cowboys, Chicago Cubs and Orlando Magic.

Patrick was married to his wife Katie for 8.5 years and was a devoted father to Lucy (3) and Jake (1).

Patrick has left his family too early and we have created this Go Fund Me page to help raise money to support the family and the future education of Lucy and Jake. We want to ensure that Pat's children have every opportunity to pursue their dreams and aspirations, including attending college if they choose.
