Patrick Kaplan's Eagle Scout Project Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Patrick Kaplan. I am part of Troop 373. I am working towards my Eagle Scout Rank. For my project, I am making dog first aid kits. The group I am making them for is The Stink Bug Project, who is located here in Colorado. (https://rmchildren.org/stink-bug-project/) The Stink Bug Project is a program of Rocky Mountain Children's Health Foundation. They match well-trained companion dogs with families in need of a well-trained pet. They were started in 2009 by a girl named Allison. She had a brain tumor that she called "Stink Bug". She was paired with a dog named Coco from the K-9 Companion Program. She enjoyed having a new friend to help her through her treatments. After getting better, she wanted other kids to feel the same. She started to sell dog biscuits and lemonade to pay for a dog for a child who also had cancer. She kept doing this and eventually, it became an organization. The Stink Bug Project provided me with my service dog, Bindy. They have helped me greatly in ways I can't express, which is why I have chosen to help them in return with this Eagle Project. I am fundraising to buy the supplies to make 150 dog first aid kits. They will go to families who currently have a dog from The Stink Bug Project and ones who will continue to get dogs. I hope you can donate and help me to get Eagle, and help all the other families who will continue to receive these dogs.
