Patrick Rolfes - Lahaina Fires Relief

Aloha,

We are Patrick’s brothers, Tim and Ryan Rolfes. As many of you know we are so lucky to have been a part of the Lahaina community for the past 30 years. It has enriched our family’s life in so many deep and meaningful ways, as we know it has enriched so many of yours. It is truly tragic to see the community suffering so badly. Our hearts are broken and they go out to all of the families who have lost loved ones, their homes, and their livelihoods. We have been in close contact with Pat and despite the loss of their homes, his friends and community remain positive and are working tirelessly to aid those in need and bring relief to their community. They are supporting each other, have hope, and remain strong!

This GoFundMe is important to us because an incredible number of our friends and family have reached out about Pat’s well-being and where they can donate to help him as he has lost his home in Lahaina town, his cat Petunia, and all of his possessions. We are so thankful that he is ok. He wants you all to know that your texts, love and support mean the world to him. He’s sorry he has not been able to respond to many of you as the service has been challenging and his focus is on providing relief.

Patrick made it out of Lahaina, but because of the speed at which the fire spread he was unable to save anything from his house. He slept at a friend’s house on the other side of the island and worked the War Memorial Stadium relief center in Kahului the first two days after the fire, bringing truckloads of essentials to those most in need at his own expense. When the road reopened he headed back into Lahaina bringing the most needed supplies to town. He’s back in Lahaina now and is continuing to help by preparing temporary housing to relocate families who have lost their homes and working with a team of friends to distribute aid to those most in need.

The funds raised from this GoFundMe will help Patrick continue his work helping local friends and families impacted by the fire and provide Patrick with assistance to rebuild his own life.

P.S. Pat was happy to report he found and adopted a new kitten in the rubble and she has brought a lot of joy to his team. They have named her Phoenix!
