Patrick Stein - 10 Year Stronger Marathon Campaign

Ten years. I truly cannot believe it has been 10 years since my brother, Patrick, went into surgery for a brain aneurysm and came out a changed person. He now lives with locked-in syndrome and both his life and mine were changed instantly. Although he cannot eat, speak, or move on his own, his incredible spirit, smile, and sense of humor live on. I was planning to run the marathon on Oct 11th in honor of this anniversary (as he was rushed to northwestern in the mist of the marathon ten years ago) but due to the current circumstances, I will be running it next year instead. I plan to raise money for Pat with a fundraising goal of $10,000 from now until next years race to support Patrick’s medical needs and technology to help him live his life to the fullest ($1,000 for every year Patrick has been strongly fighting towards recovery). This year has been quite tough for everyone and especially Patrick, but we continue to hold on to hope for the future.
