Hello and thanks for checking out my fund raiser! My name is Patrick Ryan. I was born and raised right here in Milton FL. When I heard the Imogene Theatre was up for sale I knew I wanted to own and operate it as a performing arts theatre and venue. It wasn't until recently though that I thought it would ever be possible.
Let me tell you a little bit about what I see for this beautiful location and why I want to do this.
While the theatre is being used by a church and still hosts weddings and other events from time to time, there's potential for it to be a whole lot more. The building has so much character. The wood floors, the gold trim around the stage boarder, the velvet curtain, the little ticket booth at the front, the neon sign above the entrance, all of it comes together in a beautiful ensemble that just screams "this is a happening place!" It can be that six to seven nights a week with the right vision and management.
I spent a few years in Memphis TN and during that time my brother and I got some experience putting on small shows. Mostly punk shows for small crowds. During that time we learned a lot about what goes into running a venue. Fast forward a few years, both my brother and I have relocated back to the town we grew up in and we're looking to see Milton grow to beyond its obvious potential.
Downtown Milton has already seen the success of Boomerang Pizzeria, Scoops Ice Cream and Sweets, and Brews Angels and Beardless Brewhaus, two local craft beer breweries. The City of Milton has also made plans to develop a city block just north of the theatre and right off Blackwater River into an entertainment district. With The Imogene Theatre in daily operation, there is plenty of money to be made, plenty of jobs to be provided, and plenty of entertainment to be supplied to the growing population of this lovely town in the Panhandle of Florida.
My vision is for there to be something happening at the Imogene Theatre six to seven nights a week. Trivia, Jackbox Party Pack Nights, swing dancing, open mic comedy, jazz music, concerts for local garage bands, special events like Fourth of July Rooftop Parties, Super Bowl Watch Parties, Super Smash Bros video game tournaments, Charity Poker Tournaments to raise money for Studer Family Children's Hospital in neighboring Pensacola, I could fill a book with the ideas I have to make this a vibrant hotspot. I want people to know that if they wander downtown they will find something fun and exciting to do at the Imogene Theatre. And of course, the venue will be available to rent for weddings, corporate parties, and other special events.
The downstairs portion of theatre is perfect for a shop, a coffee bar, restaurant, gift shop, you name it. Being part of the Imogene Theatre in Downtown Milton is a perfect location for someone else to fulfill their dream of running their own business in a high foot traffic area.
None of this happens until I first acquire the building and raise the capital to be able to get this amazing idea off the ground. That's where you come in. I need about $150k to cover the down payment on the mortgage, an additional $150k to get the building ready for a grand opening and the lower portion ready for tenants to move in, and $100k to cover any additional costs I may have with operating the building. The building is a historic landmark and is very old, so it will need a lot of love and care, and unfortunately, love and care of a historical landmark can be quite expensive to be able to properly maintain its historic charm.
Any and all donations will go towards acquiring the building and getting the business off the ground. UPDATE! We are now offering benefits for all contributors! Even if you've already contributed! Check out our update section for more details or click here for further information about the Backstage Pass Holder's Cub.
