Patrick Velasquez's Funeral
Remembering Pat
Don't remember him with sadness
Don't remember him with tears
Remember all the laughter,
You've shared throughout the years.
Now he knows,
That his life was worthwhile.
Knowing that he passed along the way,
He made you smile.
When you're walking down the street
And you've got him on your mind,
He's walking in your footsteps,
Only half a step behind.
So please don't be unhappy
Just because he is out of sight,
Remember that he is with you
each morning, noon, and night.
Patrick was born January 22, 1959 in NYC. He was raised in Johnson Projects and Puerto Rico. He enjoyed playing baseball, basketball and football as a member of the East Harlem Chargers. Playing those early years in those 3 sports gave him the skills he needed to turn his speed into a thing to appreciate, as he was often the "go to" guy Mr. Clutch and an impact player supreme.
He went on to be honored by being selected to the ALL STATE TEAM at Wheaton Academy in Illinois. He could forever give you an account of his love of sports through play-by-play accounts of any game he played.
He then went on to work as a jack of all trades-finally stopping at Mount Sinai Medical Center where after years of dedicated work he retired.
Patrick was the best brother to Barry, Noel, Anita and George, a unique uncle, super son to Gloria and Ralph Velasquez, amazing athlete who wore the number 11, Mets, Chicago Bears and Chicago Bulls fan and fabulous father to Kassidy and Valerie.
Your help with final expenses will be greatly appreciated.
