Patrick's fight against cancer
Donation protected
Hello everyone! For those of you that don't know me, my name is Sarah Laughlin and I am Patrick Taylor's sister.
Patrick has recently been diagnosed with testicular cancer, and while the prognosis looks good, he still has a long road ahead of him. Before I tell you why we need help, let me tell you the circumstances.
Patrick was a superintendent for a construction company. After much consideration and thought, he decided to part ways with the company and take some time off with our family before starting work with a new company. However, at the beginning of March Patrick noticed his testicle was extremely enlarged. After ultrasounds, urinalysis, blood tests, and exams the doctors determinded it was a tumor and scheduled Patrick for surgery. After it was removed it was determinded to be Seminoma. After a CT and a PET scan, it was determined that the cancer had not officially spread. His blood work after surgery is cause for concern because when you remove the cancer the tumor marker levels should go down, but one of them elevated. His doctor will be discussing his case with fellow oncologists, and radiologists to determine what the next steps will be.
Patrick has exhausted all of his savings which forced our parents to dip into their retirement fund. With continued copays, scans, labs, and testing as well as his future treatment, the costs are really adding up. Not only does he still have a ways to go before meeting his insurance deductable, he has all of his regular bills and living costs. As you can imagine any little bit would be of great help. If you can not afford to donate your hard earned money, I please ask you all to continue to keep my brother in your thoughts and prayers! Thank you all so much for all the support!! We love you all!!
