Patrick's Legal and Medical Fund

Hi my name is Samantha and I am a friend of Patrick Bolden-Smith’s. We are trying to raise funds for Patrick after a series of events have left him under police custody at LAC + USC Medical Center. These funds will go towards Patrick's medical and legal expenses in the coming weeks. Patrick is a New Orleans native who recently moved out to LA to pursue a music career. He is such a kind, caring, amazing person and we are all extremely shocked by the sudden onset of his mental health crisis as well as the way LA County has handled his situation.

 

Patrick was released by LAC + USC on Sunday morning, Nov 14th after being transported there Saturday night by ambulance due to a mental health crisis. We believe he should have been held at LAC + USC or another mental health institution for an involuntary hold as he was a threat to himself. Instead, LAC + USC released him the next morning without consulting/notifying any family or friends to come get him. He was released without phone, wallet, money, etc. His mother filed a missing persons report shortly thereafter because she could not locate him and was scared for his safety/wellbeing as he was still in the midst of a mental health crisis.

 

He was arrested and found at the Hollenbeck facility last night (Tuesday, Nov 16th). He is being charged for crimes he may have committed while mentally unwell. Had LAC + USC not released him on Sunday morning, none of this would have happened. 

 

He has been charged with assaulting a police officer. We feel there is a possibility that the police hurt and mistreated Patrick. His mom has not been able to see him or see a picture of him since his arrest, so we have no idea what his physical state may be currently. We truly hope he is ok and did not get hurt.

We are trying to visit Patrick at this time and are also trying to figure out when his arraignment will be.

This money will be used for Patrick's medical expenses, attorney expenses, bail, mental health support/facilities and may also be used to help Patrick's mother with expenses while she is in Los Angeles supporting Patrick and trying to figure out how to handle everything and get him home safe.
