Patrick’s Marathon for Autism Research
Tax deductible
My name is Patrick Broder and I will be raising funds for the Organization for Autism Research. At the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic, I was lucky enough to start my career in Special Education. I am currently in my 2nd year teaching at P.S. 721 in Gravesend, Brooklyn. P.S. 721 is a District 75 school for students with moderate to severe disabilities.
I was looking for a new challenge and I have never been a huge fan of running so I decided that running the Brooklyn Marathon to raise funds for people with disabilities would be a great idea being that the school I teach in is in Brooklyn. Although not all of my students are diagnosed with Autism, a good portion of my students as well as the school are diagnosed with Autism.
OAR has been around for about 15 years now and works very hard to fund research regarding diagnosis, early intervention, education, transition to adulthood, housing, employment, and life care. For this reason, I think they are a wonderful organization to donate these funds to.
I greatly appreciate all donations and support and if possible would welcome all support along the Marathon route!
