Camps International - Deepest Darkest Peru
Donation protected
In the summer holidays of 2020, I will be volunteering for 4 weeks working with poor communities of Peru supported by Camps international.
The aim of the trip is to work with these communities using a range of skills taught to us by the local people where we will be working in a number of projects such as building schools, toilet blocks, painting, learning their culture and teaching them about our culture.
These communities are very poor and a high percentage of children under the age of 12 go to work to earn money for their family. By helping these communities, we are giving the children a chance to stay in school and finish their education.
I have been part of the scouting community since I was 5 years old and I feel the skills I have learnt over the past 9 years will help me to participate in the activities with confidence. I have been given this opportunity to experience other cultures and people in different settings. Currently, I am working towards my GCSEs, including Spanish, this will give me the chance to improve my language skills. My future aim for my education is to attend university and this trip is will be giving me an amazing experience of a lifetime.
Over the coming year, I will be fundraising in various ways including, dog walking, car washing, supermarket bag packs and a tombola. If you can't contribute any money then I will be accepting prizes for the tombola and items for the car boot sales.
Thank you for reading my campaign to aid me in visiting Paddington bear's home, in deepest darkest Peru.
