Patterson Family Loses Everything in Home Fire
Donation protected
Early Saturday morning on June 4th, Ken, Shanell, Logan, and Anthony had gotten home from a buggy ride around 1:30 am. They had gone to bed around 2 am, and Ken was awakened only a short while later from what seemed to be a house that was 100 degrees. Upon getting up, he ran into Anthony, who was also woken from the extreme heat. At that point, Ken started screaming for the family to get outside. While walking outside the house, they could see the siding melting away. Ken had to slam on Logan's window to wake him up, break it open and drag him out through it since they could not access his room from inside of the home.
Ken then had to break his bedroom window to get a phone to call 911. Ken had run back into the home three times to get their dog Gary, but the heat and smoke were too much he could not reach him. From the time the call went out at around 3 am, the house was fully engulfed in flames by 3:10 am.
Logan was taken to Tawas and then to Hurley as he had suffered the most smoke inhalation. Anthony has second-degree burns on his feet from running through the house to get out, and Ken has lacerations on his hands from breaking out the windows and minor burns from going back into the home. Everyone has been treated and is doing well.
This family has suffered an immense loss that I could not even imagine. Ken and Shanell are the nicest people I have ever known and would give the shirt off their back to help someone in need. This fire had taken more than what money could ever replace, but this is an attempt to get them back on their feet.
You may leave a donation, send a prayer, or even share the post. Anything is greatly appreciated, and all funds will be going directly to the family.
