Patti passed away April 16, at home surrounded by her family after gracefully and courageously battling cancer. It was a beautiful and peaceful afternoon filled with love, the sun shining on her and the sweet melodies of the song birds and hummingbirds.
Everyone who met Patti was changed for the better. Family, friends, and her surrounding community were touched by the kindness she shared with everyone. She always looked for the positive in every situation and would be the first person to volunteer. She lived for the small moments of life and always reminded us of what was truly important. To LOVE AND BE KIND-even when the world is unkind to you and take care of your family. She always welcomed you into her home with open arms and an open heart.
Patti loved just about everything, especially when it came to gardening. She loved to have her “hands in the dirt.” Patti enjoyed the wonders of nature and being outside. She enjoyed long walks with her four-legged friends, Gracie, Malpha and Bu in the trail systems surrounding Errington. She grew up in Qualicum Beach and spent her time on the water at 4 Poles, in Alberta, Lantzville, and Parksville. She also enjoyed her time in the mountains both as a child in Jasper National Park and later on in Waterton National Park, hiking and swimming and most of all being in nature with family and friends who came to visit.
To commemorate her great love for the great outdoors, we would like to raise funds for a memorial bench and/or tree in Patti's name. If there are any extra funds raised, they will be donated to a charity or local agency important to Patti.
Please feel free to contact her sister, Lisa, for more information.
