Punt for Prunty

We set up this website to share the story of Patton and Ari Prunty and their family.  And to ask for your support.

Ari is a truly beautiful person, inside and out. She is a caregiver, selflessly thinking and doing for others. We had our doubts that she could find her equal—until she met Patton and his nine-year-old son James. On October 17, 2014, Patton and Ari  were married. Soon after, they discovered that their family will be expanding. Their baby is due in June.

In what should be their happiest moments, Patton and Ari received devastating news. On November 13—less than a month after the wedding—Patton was diagnosed with terminal Stage IV Adenocarcinoma. The cancer started in Patton’s esophagus and spread to his liver and stomach. It is inoperable. Patton has started chemotherapy to improve his quality of life and allow him to spend as much time as possible with his family.

The Pruntys are determined to make the most of the time they have together. Patton is a loving father, husband, son, brother, coach, teammate, advocate, and friend. He is also a fighter. Patton is battling through chemotherapy while writing letters to their baby. Ari is approaching this challenge the same way that she does  all things—with courage, strength, and compassion.

On January 18, 2015, friends and family are putting on a football-themed benefit in Rochester to support Patton, Ari, and their family—Punt for Prunty. The benefit is from 12-3 pm at the Wicked Moose.  We will have a football toss and a silent auction. Please attend if you can to support Patton, Ari, and their families.

If you cannot attend the benefit or prefer to show your support here, please consider donating any amount you can to help Patton, Ari, and their family. Funds donated through this website will go directly to the Pruntys. You have the option of donating publicly or anonymously. The website requires us to set a monetary "goal." Regardless of the amount raised, our goal is to help the Pruntys in any way that we can.

Your support and generosity mean the world to Patton, Ari, and their families.  Thank you.
