My heart is so heavy as I watch the flames engulf my family/childhood home. More than 20 years of laughs, love, tears, and so much more have been shared under this roof!

All I can say is how thankful I am that all my loved ones are okay, No one was seriously injured. Thank you so much to all our friends and family who ran/drove/called/etc to help us and support us today! I am so touched by the community we have around us in Belgrade! People I haven’t talked to in years reaching out to give me updates or ask if they can help- it is just truly amazing how wonderful you all are!

Some of you may remember having neighborhood play dates here, prom after parties, bonfires, softball games, batting practice, graduation parties, camp outs, Girl Scout meetings, Halloween parties and games, scooter races in the basement, or just plain knowing my moms door was always open if you needed, and the list goes on and on…

My mom lost a lot today including her keepsakes and pictures from her growing up, the baby books/clothes/ and toys from all of us kids (she had some special toys tucked away for her grandkids someday), plants, pictures, furniture, all of the daily housewares, etc. So many pieces of the life she put together and built here. But amazingly, as usual she walked away with a beautiful perspective.

Just last night my mom and I were talking about how blessed she felt she’s had the opportunity to be in life lately. We were talking about what we could do to give back a little, although I guess the universe had other plans for now my mom is still even in this situation making sure everyone is taken care of first.

We don’t know what is next for us right now or whether we will ever get to step inside those four walls we’ve grown proud to call home. I may never again sit in my childhood room and reflect on those memories. I never thought this would happen, no one does of course but in a flash life changes so drastically. We’re going to get through this, we’ll make it with love, family, and friends. We’ll do it with our heads held high and our hearts filled with eternal greatfulness for what we still have! Thank you to everyone again!
