Help Patty Scranton’s Family with After Life Care
Donation protected
UPDATE: Patricia Scranton passed away on December 28, 2022. She is now at peace with her belated husband Paul Scranton watching over their girls from heaven above.
Patty’s daughters Elizabeth and Tara as well as Tara’s husband Steve have all taken time off work to be with their mother in her final days and now to mourn her passing. They are still in need of any financial assistance to help with costs of her arrangements, as well as allowing them to take off time to grieve and be with each other. Thank you in advance for all of your love, prayers, and any monetary donations. The family is deeply humbled and extremely grateful for all of your love and support during this challenging time.
With love and gratitude. ❤️

Original post:
Most of you who know Patty Scranton and her two daughters, Elizabeth and Tara, are aware by now of the situation she’s been facing. But for those who are not aware I want to give you a brief update.
Patty has been battling cancer since earlier this year and remained hopeful that with treatment and prayer things would get better. However, at the end of September, Patty’s doctor shared the news with her and her daughters that they needed to begin preparing for the end of life, and gave her a diagnosis of one to six months to live, but stated that she could possibly live longer if her will allowed it. Two weeks later Patty had a bad fall and was rushed to the E.R., where it was discovered that the cancer had spread throughout her entire body, including her brain, which was causing a lot of neurological issues. They have since stopped all medical treatment for the cancer and placed her under hospice care at home with Elizabeth and Tara taking turns caring for her physical needs as they’re unable to afford in-home nursing staff.
We have no idea what the next several days, weeks or months will look like, but each day has been increasingly more challenging physically, emotionally, and spiritually for Patty and her family. She is currently under the care of hospice at her home and needs round-the-clock care, as she is bed ridden.
This GoFundMe is being set up to provide financial assistance to aid Patty and her two daughters during this difficult time. Patty is in need of an in-home nurse to assist with her daily living, which can cost approximately $30-$50 an hour. This will help allow Tara and Elizabeth to still provide the proper care her mother needs while honoring her human dignity and allowing her daughters to remember their mother as the woman who raised and cared for them. The funds will also go towards helping out with a burial and funeral service, which can rang from $15k-$30k, pay off any medical bills owed and assist Elizabeth and Tara to be able to take time off work to grieve and support each other after Patty is gone.
The reality is that this is very difficult situation for their entire family and they’ve already lost Patty’s husband and their father, Paul Scranton back in 2009. We would like to help support Elizabeth, Tara and their family as they walk through this end of life journey with their mother to help honor the dignity of their mother and support each other. Any amount you’re able to contribute to this cause will be much appreciated. For those who are unable to financially assist at this time we very much appreciate your prayers and help to share this GoFundMe page.
Patty is a parishioner of Good Shepherd Catholic Church and is most grateful for all of your love, prayers and support. Thank you in advance and God Bless.
We will continue to post updates through this page periodically so Elizabeth and Tara can focus on spending time with their mother and not have to worry about answering questions.
